Foods that Lighten Skin

One of the most common methods for lightening or whitening the skin is involves the use of foods.

Here are some foods that lighten and brighten the skin complexion.

Lime Juice for Lighten Skin

Simply squeeze a lime into a bowl and add some boiled milk. Make sure the milk is whole milk rather than skim or 2 percent.

A dollop of glycerin should then be added and the mixture swirled generously with a spoon. Allow this concoction to set for 30 minutes before before applying to any part of the skin you want to lighten.

It may take a few weeks to notice any change in pigmentation, but you should immediately notice that the skin looks healthier.

Lemon Juice for Lighten Skin

If you cannot stand the smell of lime, try a lemon juice mixture. Lemon juice does not even need the milk and glycerin; just rub the juice itself onto the skin every day and massage, making sure to let it stay on the face for only 5 or 10 minutes.

Any longer and there is the potential for skin irritation. Adding a teaspoon of honey to the lemon juice can reduce the potential irritation. Allow a month to see the effects of this treatment.

Mint Leaf Paste for Lighten Skin

Grab a handful of mint leaves and grind them into a fine paste. Keep in mind it will require a rather substantial amount of mint leaves in order to make enough paste to cover a large area of skin.

Apply the paste to the skin and let it sit for at least a half hour every day for up to 2 weeks.

Cucumber Juice for Lighten Skin

Blend a cucumber into a slightly thick lotion and apply to the skin, leaving it on for about 20 minutes. In addition to helping to lighten the skin, cucumber lotion is also great for treating acne and wrinkles.

An even better way to juice cucumber for whitening the skin is to add a tablespoon of milk and rose water into the mixture and repeat the application process.

Yogurt Mask for Lighten Skin

Although perhaps not the most pleasant-sounding skin whitening idea, consider applying a yogurt mask to the skin every day.

To improve the whitening process, add a teaspoon of turmeric to the mask. Let sit on the face in cool, dry place for a just a few minutes every day and then wipe off using cold water.
