Most commercial products contain synthetic substances that don’t create a natural beauty. Rather, it becomes more of an artificial beauty based on chemicals.

A much healthier alternative is make face masks at home using natural ingredients, some you can even find in your kitchen.

Experience show that for most people it’s best to keep it simple in the beginning. This way you’ll learn to appreciate homemade face masks and also appreciate that you don’t have to spend much time with it.

A simple start would be to use ingredients you don’t have to mix or that you can blend quickly. This is a simple face mask to exfoliate and cleanse you skin daily:

  • 2 tsp lemon or lime juice
  • 1 tsp honey (raw honey is best)

Mix, apply gently with circular motions. leave it on for a few minutes if you like. Rinse with warm water. Try also using only honey as a face scrub, it work very well.

Try moisturizing your skin with a little extra virgin coconut oil. Just massage it in gently; it smells wonderful! If coconut oil is too rich for your skin, try aloe vera gel.

It has a lighter feel to it and will also makes your skin smooth after shaving. You can also buy cleansers and toners and moisturizers that are natural and organic.

Homemade Face Masks for Sensitive skin?

It’s always wise to make sure you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients. This is more important if you plan to use essential oils.

Even though the ingredients are clean and natural, a few people can get a minor reaction. I love pure lime juice on my skin but I sometimes get small red spots if I use it undiluted; if I dilute it my face skin is fine. Minor reactions include itching, red spots or similar.

If you plan to use essential oils you need to be cautious not to use them undiluted. These oil must be mixed with other ingredients because they are very strong.

One exception is lavender oil; this you can use undiluted if you like. But for me the smell becomes too overwhelming.

This is a safe recipe for a nice face mask:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 tsp raw honey (or use the honey you have at home)

Mix the ingredients, gently massage it in and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse with water. Follow up with a moisturizer as suggested below.

I love the feel after a honey mask. Sometimes I make a complete body scrub using only honey. It makes you truly sweet! “Natural Homemade Face Masks for Glowing Skin”
